The IMF stated that El Salvador has taken corrective measures and committed to continuing to reduce the government's involvement in Bitcoin-related activities.

According to IMF disclosures, El Salvador is expected to refrain from further Bitcoin accumulation beyond the already recorded donations, while continuing to strengthen transparency disclosures and the regulatory framework for government-held crypto assets.

This disbursement is part of El Salvador's 40-month EFF program, totaling approximately 1.4 billion USD, which was approved in 2025.
